Kamchatka will surprise you! You can go surfing all year around here.
For over 10 years, the Snowave surf school at Khalaktyrsky Beach has been teaching the basics of extreme sports to amateurs and offering rental equipment to professional surfers. ISA certified instructors can conquer the waves here. In summer you can stay in the school's surf camp with a camping zone, a kitchen, showers, power generators, an affordable hostel and comfortable houses with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. Just don't forget to pack enough food because the beach does not have shopping facilities. Snowave offers several training programmes: Surf Classic for beginners to master the basics; Surf Kids camp for children and their parents; Longboard Camp – longboard classes with room and board.

Another surfing school in Kamchatka is Quiksilver with individual and courses for beginners and advanced surfers. It's located near the spot for beginners, which is a perfect place for getting up on a board the first time. A certified rescue instructor is there to help you with theory and practice, and a professional photographer will capture the best moments of your experience. The surf camp is open between 20 June and 20 September. Arrival is flexible: you can join us on any date. Please note that guests must be at least 12 years old. Fresh seafood dishes, fun barbecue parties and comfortable heated tepees will make your holiday unforgettable.
In the warmer months, the beach has a visit centre with a sports ground, a playground for children, information boards talking about the life of marine animals and a gift shop. This is also a place for sports competitions, including football, golf and volleyball, as well as photo exhibitions and lectures about the flora and fauna of Kamchatka.
The beach hosts competitions in football, golf and volleyball, as well as photo exhibitions and lectures.
The additional programme of surf camps includes a variety of different activities such as horseback riding, paragliding over the coast, rock climbing and trips to the springs. There are always plenty of hiking tours and sea trips available. If the weather permits, you can go and pick berries, organise a picnic, watch the sunrise or sunset on the beach.
The black sand sparkling in the sun rays and majestic mountains are as fascinating as the volcanic Dragonstone Island from the Game of Thrones – a wonderful setting for a fantasy photo shoot. You can enjoy the sombre beauty of the Avacha Bay from a tour boat or a yacht, or try fishing or diving in the area. Hot thermal springs are an ideal way to relax after a long day: the famous balneological resort Paratunka is only an 1.5-hour drive away from the beach (30 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky).
